Biography and resume

Lisa B. Huber

(Watercolorart4@msn.com)

I began painting in oils at 4 years of age. My brushes and paints were “hand-me-downs” from my older brother and sister. My sister, who was 11 years older, was especially patient in letting me paint by her side, copying her work as best I could. One of my earliest memories is of my brother chastising me for squeezing paint right onto my brush from the tube, rather than mixing specific colors on a palette. The color was bright and clean, fresh out of the tube, and I disliked the mess and waste on the palette...but I learned to mix colors.

I continued with art classes in high school and 4-H, but stopped when college and life took precedence. I took no more art classes until 1990. In the 80’s I switched to pencil and watercolors. Old, weathered items, especially structures and vehicles—and particularly tractors, fascinate me. I also enjoy painting about our heritage in the West and about the animals who are a part of this heritage.

I have been a Software Developer for over 30 years and my art is a wonderful diversion and escape from the literal computer world.
